Freedom Shrine

The Freedom Shrine is a series of America's most important documents.  The Exchange Club of Alton dedicated a freedom shrine at Gordon Moore Park in 1989.  It was rededicated in 2005.  The project earned the club the National Service Project award in 2006.  Other freedom shrines the club has given to the community includes one at St. Louis Lambert International Airport, Alton High School, and the Godfrey Village Hall.  Our newest Freedom Shrine was put in place at the Alton VFW Hall on Alby.  The dedication ceremony was on November 11, Veterans Day.  We are currently working to remodel the Gorden Moore Park freedom shrine.  Please check out these important documents the next time you visit the park.
